Рецепт Ginger Sesame Salmon

This is an outstanding asian-flavored salmon. It's a bit more interesting than your typical teriyaki salmon. Think of it as teriyaki salmon with a kick! I'm a huge fan of grilled salmon and I don't think it gets much better than this.

Инструкции

  1. Whisk together vegetable oil, ginger, and wasabi in a small saucepan over medium heat for 2 minutes. Remove saucepan
  2. from heat and stir in vinegar, sugar, lemon juice, and salt. Transfer
  3. marinade to a small bowl (that you can take outside to the girill) . Set aside 1/3 cup of marinade to use as vinaigrette for the Spinach Salad recipe linked below.
  4. Add soy sauce and sesame oil to remaining marinade in bowl; whisk until marinade is thoroughly mixed. Place salmon fillets in a glass baking dish. Pour soy marinade over salmon; cover and refrigerate for 30-60 minutes.
  5. Preheat grill to medium. Brush or spray grill grate with oil. Place salmon on grill, skin side down if skin on. If skin off, consider using a grill basket. Transfer marinade to a bowl. Grill salmon, uncovered, until fish is firm to the touch, about 8 minutes depending on thickness. Baste salmon every 2 minutes with the remaining marinade.

A tasty salmon marinade that doubles as the dressing for the go-with spinach salad. BRILLIANT! I am also not a fan of wasabi so I subbed red pepper flakes to my heat comfort level and it had the right kick. I did enjoy trying this recipe and it was just as tasty as you promised. But my grilled salmon seasoning of choice remains humbly and simply - fresh lemon. The marinade sauce used for the Spinach Salad linked to this recipe though is another story - I loved it and wouldn't change a thing.

I'm such a crackhead...please disregard my question about the calorie count since it's right there next to the recipe. Oops!

            John,

This sounds like something my husband and I would really love. However, I was wondering if it would be possible to substitute the wasabi powder with cayenne powder. I'm not a big wasabi fan although I really do like spicy food. We eat blackened salmon on caesars salad all the time and this sounds like it would be similar but with a nice change.

Also, would you happen to know the calorie count on this one?

            Thanks,

            Lorrie

I think you can always substitute cayenne for wasabi...but I would use maybe 1/2 tsp or 1 tsp at most. Cayenne is much spicier than wasabi!

Thank you John. I went to the store last night and bought the Wasabi Poweder as it was on sale. I thought I should at least try it. Who knows, it may become one of my favorites.

This is definitely one "for the history books" (okay..Joe Tuna here in NYC says that). Seriously, being a fish person, it is perfect.
