In the Philippines this dish is called ginisang Baguio beans, and its actually string beans or green beans that is sautéed. These healthy, rich in protein beans before different hybrids are formed, only grew in cooler weather conditions and in the Philippines, Baguio is the only place for that. However, nowadays it can be grown in warm places, but Filipinos have already adapted the name Baguio beans for green beans and its hard to change. This vegetable is best cook sautéed together with ground beef to savor the fullness of its flavor. It has a natural taste and is crisp when stir fried but still maintain the bright green color. The secret is by cooking them in high heat and uncovered, that way the color will never turn dull green and still great. This dish is popular serve for lunch especially as a side dish when there’s fried chicken or fish. Its simple and quick to cook, can be done by beginners.

- 1. Green beans - 1/4 kilo
- 2. Ground beef - 1/2 cup
- 3. Oyster sauce - 3 tbsp
- 4. Garlic - 3 cloves (minced)
- 5. Onion - 1 pc (chopped)
- 6. Red bell pepper - 1 pc small (cut into strips)
- 7. Cooking oil - 1 tbsp

- 1. Remove the ends and fibers on the side of the green beans. Cut diagonally and about half an inch thick.
- 2. In a sauce pan, heat cooking oil and sauté garlic and onions until translucent.
- 3. Add the ground beef and stir, flatten them up a little with the use of the back of a ladle for faster cooking. Then simmer for 2 to 4 minutes.
- 4. Add the oyster sauce then turn the heat to high, cooking in low heat will make the beans lose much color when added to the ground beef.
- 6. Add the green beans and the red bell pepper, stir until the vegetables are cooked through but not overcook.
- 7. Transfer to a serving plate and serve hot with steamed rice and fried fish or chicken on the side.
