- Cream butter, gradually add in powdered sugar. Cream till smooth. Add in flour, salt, and vanilla; blend. Mix will be stiff. Healthy pinch off small pcs of dough. Place on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 400 degrees about 12 min (light brown around edges). Roll cookies in powdered sugar after removing from oven. Makes about 4 dozen ball cookies. An all time favorite.
