- 12 ounce Belgian white beer

- 1 Tbsp. grated fresh ginger
- 2 tsp Dijon mustard
- 1/2 tsp freshly-grnd black pepper
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1Â 1/2 lb peeled and deveined shrimp uncooked
- Â Â (large or possibly 16 to 20 per lb size)
- 4 x skewers

- In large bowl, whisk together all ingredients except shrimp. Stir in shrimp to coat. Cover and chill at least 2 hrs or possibly overnight.
- Heat grill. Thread shrimp onto 4 (10- to 12-inch) metal skewers. Place on gas grill over medium heat or possibly on charcoal grill 4 to 6 inches from medium coals. Cook 5 min or possibly till shrimp turn pink, brushing occasionally with marinade and turning once.
- This recipe yields 4 servings.
- Serving Ideas: Salty French fries and malt vinegar.
- Comments: Belgian white beer is lightly scented with orange rind and spices, a good match for the shrimp. But you can substitute any beer. Marinating overnight infuses the flavors more deeply. This dish is easily doubled or possibly tripled.
