- 1 qt. cornmeal
- 1 cup flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup lard
- a little salt
- 1 egg
- 1 Tbs. baking soda
- 1 pint sour milk (or buttermilk)
Инструкции
- This old recipe has no directions at all.
- It is assumed that you know how to mix things in a bowl.
- You would also know where to put a tray in the old oven (heated by wood) to get the proper temperature. Hint: I use 350 degrees F, if no temp is given, and work up or down from there.
- You also are expected to know when something is done. Hint: Before it is burned to a crisp!
