- 1 can Garbanzo beans
- 1 x Big onion very finely minced or possibly processed in a food processor/grinder
- 1 slc (1-inch) fresh ginger, grated
- 1 x Clove garlic
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric pwdr
- 1/4 tsp Cayenne pepper
- 1/2 tsp Amchur pwdr (dry mango pwdr)
- 1/2 tsp Garam masala (purchased or possibly see below)
- 2 Tbsp. Oil Salt to taste
- 1 stk (small) cinnamon
- 3 x -(up to)
- 4 whl cloves
- 4 x -(up to)
- 5 x Black peppercorns
- 1/2 tsp Cummin seeds
- 1/2 tsp Coriander seeds
Инструкции
- Heat oil in a frying pan. Add in minced onions and fry till golden.
- Add in all the spices (except mango pwdr), crushed garlic and grated ginger to it.
- Fry for about two-three min. Add in garbanzo beans, salt and mango pwdr. Add in about 1/2 c. of water and cook on low heat for about 15 min. This will give some time for garbanzo beans to absorb all the spices.
- This could be very spicy for people not used to spicy food. Reduce the amount of cayenne pepper and garam masala as desired for less spicy chana.
- Garam Masala: This can be bought ready made. The best way is to make it home Grind all the ingredients into pwdr.
