  1. Wash and cut hard-ripe melon into 1-inch slices, crosswise. Remove rind and seed. Cut slices into even pcs. Weigh. Mix melon and sugar.
  2. Let stand 12 to 18 hrs in refrigerator. Add in lemon juice. Boil till cantaloupe is clear. Pour boiling warm into jars and seal.
