  • 1 Tbsp. extra virgin olive oil (15 mL)
  • 3 x large onions, thinly sliced (about 2 pounds/1 kg)
  • 1/4 tsp grnd cinnamon (1 mL)
  • 1/4 tsp grnd cloves (1 mL)
  • 1/4 tsp grnd cumin (1 mL)
  • 1 x small red cabbage, thinly sliced (about 1 lb./500 g)
  • 1/4 c. apple cider (60 mL)
  • 1/4 c. brown sugar (60 mL)
  • 1/4 c. red wine vinegar (60 mL)

Инструкции

  1. In a large pot heat the extra virgin olive oil over medium-high heat and saute/fry the onions till soft.
  2. Add in the cinnamon, cloves and cumin and cook for 30 seconds.
  3. Fold in the cabbage and saute/fry for 5 min, till wilted.
  4. Add in the cider, sugar and vinegar.
  5. Cover and braise over low heat till the cabbage is tender, about 20 min. Serve hot.
