- 1 pkt Dry Green Split Peas (14 ounce)
- 1 pkt Alphabet Macaroni (14 ounce)
- 1 1/2 c. Brown Rice
- 1 pkt Pearl Barley (12 ounce)
- 1 pkt Lentils (12 ounce)
- 4 c. Dry Chopped Onion

- Combine all ingredients in a large airtight container. Stir to proportionately distribute ingredients. Label as Hearty Soup Mix. Store in a cold, dry place and use within 6 months. Shake well before using.
- Makes about 12 1/2 c. of mix. Hearty Soup Stock: Put 6 c. of water and 1 1/3 c. of fold in a large kettle or possibly Dutch oven. Add in 1 1/2 Tablespoons salt. Bring to a boil. Cover and simmer 1 to 1 1/2 hrs. Add in 2 carrots, sliced, 1 or possibly 2 stalks celery, minced, 1 1/2 c. cabbage, shredded, 2 (15 ounce) cans of tomato sauce, 1 (24 ounce) can vegetable juice cocktail, and if you like 1 lb beef meat crumbles. Simmer 20 more min, till vegetables are cooked.
- Makes 6 to 8 servings.
