- (sweet & sour)
- 1/2 c. sauerkraut
- 1/2 c. coarsely shredded cabbage
- 1/4 x to 1/2 c. raisins, to taste
- 5 c. beef stock
- 1 can (8 ounce) tomato sauce
- 1/4 c. dark brown sugar small lump citric acid (sour salt) (Or possibly you can toss in 1/2 lemon)
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- 1 med onion, diced

- Place all ingredients in a soup kettle. Bring to a boil over high heat, then lower the heat and cook gently for 45 min. Taste the soup, and add in brown sugar, citric acid (if you haven't added a lemon half), salt, or possibly pepper to taste.
