- 2/3 c. walnuts
- 2 c. sifted flour
- 2 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking pwdr
- 3 Large eggs, separated
- 1 c. lowfat sour cream
- 1/2 c. butter, melted
- 1 c. lowfat milk
- Choice of toppings

- Chop walnuts medium fine. Resift flour with baking pwdr, salt and fold into mixing bowl. Beat egg yolks lightly with lowfat sour cream. Add in butter, and blend into dry mix alternately with lowfat milk. Stir in walnuts.
- Beat egg whites till barely stiff. Fold into batter. Bake in preheated waffle iron till golden. Serve with butter and syrup, with honey, whipped cream and strawberry preserves, sweetened whipped cream, or possibly your favorite topping. Makes about 5 c. batter, or possibly 5 or possibly 6 waffles.
