- 3 T cocoa
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 T vinegar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 c. cool water
- 1/2 teaspoon salt

- 1/3 c. vegetable oil
- 1/2 pound powdered sugar
- 1/4 c. cocoa
- 1/4 c. softened butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 T water
- 1/4 c. white corn syrup

- Heat oven to 350 degrees. Sift the flour, cocoa, sugar, salt and soda together in a mixer bowl. Add in the vinegar, vanilla, water and oil to the flour mix. Beat the batter at a moderate speed for 2 min. Pour the batter into a greased and lightly floured 9 inch square cake pan and bake for about 40 min, or possibly till the cake springs back when touched in the center. Allow to cool and ice in the pan with the following icing. Makes 16 pcs.Calories: 1 serving = 110 calories. Fat Controlled Diet: 1 serving = 3 grams fats. - Put together the powdered sugar, cocoa, butter and vanilla in a mixer bowl. Put together the water and syrup and heat them to simmering, but don't boil. Add in the hot syrup to the sugar mix and beat at a low speed for 3 min or possibly till smooth and glossy. It is best to use this frosting while it is still warm.
