- 1/4 c. packed brown sugar
- 1 T baking pwdr
- 1 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/3 c. butter flavored Crisco
- 1 (16 to 17 ounce) can sweet potatoes, liquid removed and diced
- 1 3/4 c. buttermilk

- In medium bowl, mix flour, brown sugar, baking pwdr, salt and baking soda. With pastry blender, cut in shortening till mix resembles coarse crumbs. Stir sweet potatoes and buttermilk into flour mix just till blended. Drop biscuits by heaping tbsp, about 1 inch apart, on 2 cookie sheets. Bake at 450 degrees for about 15 min.
