A pie fit for a holiday table (Easter for my family), Lent if you omit the meat or a light supper. Serve with a tomato salad and your favorite soup if you need more than a slice of the pie to fill you up. You won't be disappointed with this one! My family has been cooking and enjoying this pie for generations.

This is a family friendly recipe with a mild flavor that everyone will like. It's got a nice crunchy oustide and a soft inside. We served it with a fresh tomato salad, with very thin slices of mozzarella, fresh basil, and a splash of olive oil and balsamic vineagar. The only improvement I could think of was something to make it a little more moist in the middle. Perhaps adding a little olive oil to the spaghetti, or slightly increasing the heavy cream, would do this. We ended up serving some warm marinara sauce in a bowl because our kids wanted to add it to their slice of pie, but none of the adults used it. The flavor is mild but pleasing, and the marinara would have changed the balance too much for me. We also served brussel sprouts sauted with olive oil and garlic, and some sliced Italian bread. Overall, a great meal and a fun family dish. Thanks for sharing Nanette!

This is a nice, family friendly, and hearty dish. It's pretty mild flavored, so serve it with some flavorful sides. Nice with a fresh tomato salad as Nanette recommends, so this is probably the perfect time of year to try it.

This is unlike any spaghetti pie I've seen. It's incredible and I love the addition of the Genoa salami. This is a must try!

John & Nancy: I'm pleased that you tried the Spaghetti Pie. Yes, it is mild flavored. Perhaps, you can add some Parmesan cheese for added flavor or up the garlic?? For a smaller pie, you can make it in a skillet on the stove and flip it over like an omlet. A metal pan works best. Be careful not to add too much additional liquid it might not set well. Just a thought and Thanks for trying this recipe. Glad you enjoyed it. N

I laughed when I read your profile as we also called tomato sauce gravey in our family. But we have arguments about this all the time. Your spaghetti pie sounds wonderful.
              Regards,

Pat: this is how I reason out this "argument"...if it has meat in it, it's gravy...if no meat than it's a sauce (marinara). But in my family, we had gravy every Sunday and still do!May I add..love your blog, too, and recipes. N
