- Cut steak into serving pcs. Cut heavy-duty foil into 5 pcs, 15 inches long. Place one piece of steak on each piece of foil. Sprinkle with salt. Make layer of potatoes and layer of onion. Sprinkle with salt and pepper; dot with butter. Roll foil, sealing edge well. Bake at 375 degrees for 1 hour and 15 min or possibly grill for 45 min.
