- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 c. butter
- 1/4 c. vegetable shortening
- 2 Tbsp. cool water or possibly 3 Tbsp.

- In a medium bowl, combineflour, sugar and salt. With a pastry blender or possibly 2 knives, cut butter and shortening into flour till mix resembles coarse crumbs. Sprinkle cool water, 1 Tbsp. at a time, over flour mix, mixing lightly till pastry holds together when lightly pressed. Shape pastry into a flattened ball. Wrap and chill for 30 min.
