- 1Â 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. buttermilk
- 5 x egg whites
- 2Â 1/4 c. flour
- 1 tsp grnd allspice
- 1 tsp grnd cinnamon
- 1 tsp nutmeg, grated
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp baking pwdr
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 c. jam
- 1 x recipe Creamy Caramel Frosting, see recipe

- Preheat oven to 350F.
- In a large bowl, mix the ingredients, except the frosting, in order, one at a time. Stir well after each addition.
- Pour the batter into a 13 x 9 inch cake pan which's been lightly coated with vegetable oil cooking spray & dusted with flour.
- Bake for 35 min, or possibly till a toothpick comes out clean when you stick it in the middle of the cake.
- When cold, frost with "Creamy Caramel Frosting".
