- 1/2 c. unsweetened cocoa
- 1 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 1/4 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. margarine or possibly butter, softened
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 4 x egg whites
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 2 c. frzn light dessert topping, thawed batteren to 350 degrees F. Grea, level off. In medium flour two 8 or possibly 9-inch round cake pans. Lightly spoon flour into measuring c. proportionately in greased and floured pans.

- Bake at 350 degrees F. for 27 to 35 min or possibly till toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cold 10 min; remove from pans. Cold completely. Fill and frost with dessert topping.
- TIP: Cake can be baked in greased and floured 13x9-inch pan. Prepare as directed above. Bake at 350 degrees F. for 33 to 40 min. Cold completely.
- HIGH ALTITUDE - Above 3500 Feet: Decrease sugar to 1 c.. Bake as directed above.
