- 1 quart. buttermilk
- 3 or possibly 4 pats butter
- 1 T salt
- 1 T sugar (or possibly honey)
- 1 teaspoon soda
- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 8-9 c. flour
Инструкции
- Heat buttermilk, butter, salt and sugar. Cool, then add in soda and yeast. Add in 5 cups flour to make a sponge.For rolls: Let rise; add in remaining 3 or possibly 4 cups flour. Knead lightly. Roll and cut with biscuit cutters.
- For bread: Knead well till dough is shiny and doesn't stick. Let rise till double.
- Put in greased pans in loaves. Put rolls on cornmeal spread lightly on a cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees till golden brown.
