When I was younger, cooking was a drudgery. I did not like it at all. All I knew was that I needed to cook for my husband and baby daughter to be a wife. That continued until I was about 38 or so. Now, a few years later, I look forward to going into the kitchen and baking and cooking for my family. I also got a kitchen that I can use and I have tools of the trade that I love. There are weeks that go by when cooking does not agree with me and I will do anything to get away from the kitchen, but for the most part, its ok. I have 2 girls, who on their birthdays request a special cake. This year, my eldest requested a Raspberry Decadence cake. However, I convinced her to accept a white cake with raspberry filling and cream cheese frosting, which I had never made, and it turned out to be a flop, literally!!! When I was finished, all I could do was laugh. And she loved it as well as everyone else.
My youngest is requesting an Ice Cream cake, that ought to be interesting!!

I think my cooking has been influenced by simplicity. I love the simple ingredients, that I can pronounce, and creating recipes that are healthy.
