Рецепт White Sandwich Bread
I miss Wonderbread and this is the closest I have been able to make, texture and taste wise. It is not quite as soft and dissolving on your tongue as Wonderbread, but it is soft like a dessert bread and not as sweet.

- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 cup warm milk
- 1 package dry yeast
- 1 large egg
- 1/3 cup butter, softened
- 1/4 cup sugar, granulated or superfine
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 3 3/4 cup AP flour
- 1/4 cup melted butter for brushing tops (optional)
Инструкции
- Mix the water and milk together in a small bowl.
- Add the yeast to the water and milk.
- Set it aside and let it do it's thing.
- Mix the butter and sugar together until creamy.
- Mix in the egg until completely incorporated.
- Add in the yeast mixture and combine thoroughly.
- In a seperate bowl, stir together the flour and salt.
- Add the dry mixture to the wet mixture a little at a time, until all of it is mixed in and well combined.
- Knead just a very little bit, till the dough is smooth and bit sticky. Too much kneading will cause the dough to be less light and fluffy.
- Set it in a warm, draft free area, covered with a damp tea towel, until doubled in size. (45 mins to 1.5 hours)
- Punch down and put in a buttered and floured bread pan.
- Pre-heat the oven to 375 degrees F
- Let rise again until doubled.
- Bake in oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the bottom sounds hollow when knocked.
- Let cool and then cut 1/4 - 1/2 inch wide slices when you're ready to make sandwiches.
