- 6 C. apples, sliced, & mixed with 1/2 c. sugar, 2 Tblsp flour, & sprinkled with cinnamon & nutmeg to taste.
- Smooth butter around sides & bottom of pie pan. Sprinkle pecans (the more, the merrier!) & brown sugar over butter. (sometimes I add in about 3/4 c. of raisins at this point also)
- Put on 1 layer of crust, extending 1" beyond edge of pan.
- Top with apples mix & then the 2nd crust.
- Prick with a fork.
- Bake 10 min at 450 degrees, then an additional 45 min at 350 degrees. Cold for a few min after removing from oven.
- Flip upside down to serve.
- Slices may be topped with Cold Whip or possibly a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
