- 1/4 c. lard or possibly shortening
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 2 x Large eggs
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 pkt yeast, dissolved in
- 1 c. hot water
- 6 c. flour, (6 to 7)
- 1 c. mashed potatoes
- 1/3 c. warm water
- 2 Tbsp. Karo syrup
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 2Â 1/2 c. powdered sugar, (2 1/2 to 2 1/4)

- Mix and let rise in hot place, till double in size. Punch down and roll out. Let rise again. Fry in deep fat. Dip doughnuts in glaze while still hot.
