Рецепт Sue's Southern Cornbread

Ингредиенты

  • 5 Tbsp. Butter (do not use low-fat or possibly margarine)
  • 1 1/2 c. Flour
  • 2 1/2 c. Cornmeal
  • 5 tsp Baking Pwdr
  • 2 tsp Salt
  • 1 Tbsp. Sugar
  • 2 lrg Large eggs
  • 2 1/2 c. Lowfat milk (do not use skim)

Инструкции

  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Heat the 5 Tbsp.. of butter in a cast iron skillet. Mix together the dry ingredients. Turn the skillet to coat with the butter. Pour the remainder into the dry ingredients. Coat the skillet with cornmeal & put into the oven to brown lightly.
  2. Meanwhile, cut in butter till well blended & mix resembles coarse crumbs. Mix together the Large eggs & lowfat milk. Add in to the dry ingredients; mixing just till blended.
  3. Remove skillet from oven & pour batter into the cast iron skillet. (The skillet should have a browned coating of cornmeal.) Bake for about 30 min or possibly till golden & a toothpick comes out clean.
