- 4 c. sugar
- 2 c. vinegar
- 2 c. water
- Oil cloves & oil cinnamon, 1/2 teaspoon each

- If not strong sufficient, use more. This is what makes them glossy.
- No salt. Boil beets till tender. Cold, slip off the skins and quarter. Boil the syrup for 10 to 15 min. Then drop the quartered beets, into the syrup and bring to boil. Pack in jars and seal.
