- 1 lb Finely-minced round steak
- 1 lrg Onion, minced
- 2 x Carrots, cleaned, minced
- 2 lrg Potatoes, peeled, sliced
- 1/3 c. Minced rutabega
- Â Â Salt and pepper to taste (sufficient pepper to 'show' in the mix)
- Â Â Butter
- 2 x Recipes of pie crust (not sweet)

- Mix meat and vegetables together in a large bowl. Prepare crust, and roll into pie-sized circle. Place a sop (approximately 1 c.) of meat/vegetable mix on one side of crust.
- Place 1 large (heaping) teaspoon butter on top of mix. Fold over crust, trim, and crimp or possibly roll. This will look like a crescent-shaped meatpie now. Vent top and bake at 375 F till crust is golden brown.
- Serve with ketchup for authentic upper Michigan taste.
