- 1/2 c. Hot lowfat milk
- 1 Tbsp. Plus 1 tsp. dry yeast
- 3 Tbsp. Granulated sugar
- 1 c. Plus 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 x Egg
- 2 Tbsp. Unsalted butter
- 1 pch Salt
- 4 Tbsp. Unsalted butter, softened
- 1 x Clove garlic, peeled and minced
- 1/2 lb Lump crabmeat, picked of any shells
- 1 Tbsp. Minced tomato
- Â Â Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 Tbsp. Minced basil and Italian parsley
- 2 x Shallots, peeled and minced
- 1 x Egg, lightly beaten

- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
- To make the dough, combine the lowfat milk, yeast, 2 Tbsp. of the sugar and 2 Tbsp. of the flour in a large mixing bowl. Mix well and set aside for 30 min. In another bowl combine the egg, butter, salt, sugar, and flour. Mix together till smooth and elastic, then combine with the other dough. Don't overmix. Cover and let rise for 1 hour.
- For the filling, place 1 Tbsp. of butter in a skillet over medium heat. Saute/fry the garlic, crab, tomato, and salt and pepper to taste, for 2 min. Remove from the heat and allow to cold. Pour off any excess liquid, then mix well in a bowl with the remaining butter, herbs, shallots, and salt and pepper.
- Divide the dough into 12 equal portions, forming them into round balls. On a lightly floured surface, roll each ball out into a 6-inch circle.
- Divide the filling into 12 equal portions, placing one portion onto each circle of dough. Take up the edges of each dough circle and roll it into a ball, sealing in the filling. Place on a buttered baking pan, cover with a damp towel, and allow to rise for 25 min. Lightly brush with the beaten egg, then bake in the oven for 20 min or possibly till golden. Serve immediately.
