- 2 lbs. Vidalia onions, sliced 1/4 inch thick
- Ice water
- 1 c. plain flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking pwdr
- 1 c. lowfat milk
- 1 egg, slightly beaten

- Separate onion slices into rings. Soak in ice water for 2 hrs. This is important for crispy rings. Drain and dry thoroughly. Proceed to batter with the following:
- Dip onion rings in batter. Fry in deep fat at 370 degrees till brown. Drain well on paper towels. Serve while warm. Sprinkle with salt just before serving. Serves 6-8.
