- 3/4 cup of room temperature water
- 2 cups of flour (all-purpose)
- 1 tbsp of vegetable oil
- 1/2 tsp of salt
- 2 tsp of baking powder (not baking soda!)

- 1. Mix up the baking powder with the salt and the flour. It's a good idea to sift them together. Do this in a large mixing bowl.
- 2. Now, slowly add the oil and then the water into the large mixing bowl. It will take a few moments to mix as the water and the oil will naturally try to separate from one another.
- 3. You now have dough! Pull off smaller chunks and roll them into balls, slightly larger than a golf ball. Now, flatten these balls and you are ready to fry them.
- 4. To fry the dough, you will need a frying pan with some kind of oil or grease inside it. You can use lard, shortening, vegetable oil or butterâit's up to you. Heat the pan over a medium temperature and fry each piece of dough for about a minute or two on each side.
- For a sweeter treat, why not try adding some icing sugar or jelly on top? If you are looking for a more savory snack, this bread recipe goes great with couscous and a mild curry sauce.
