- 3 1/2 c. confectioners' sugar
- 3 x egg whites see * Note (or possibly equivalent in egg white pwdr)

- * Note: If raw egg whites are used in the icing, do not eat this. Enjoy it as a decoration only.
- In a large bowl, beat the confectioners' sugar and egg whites till smooth. Place in a pastry bag with a small tip or possibly place in a resealable plastic storage bag and cut a tiny piece off a bottom corner of the bag. Use as a glue to connect and decorate a gingerbread house.
- Comments: When we're short on time, but want a gingerbread house which really feels like our own, here's the easy shortcut. Buy an undecorated gingerbread house from the bakery, and then get creative with this quick icing and other decorations. This way, we save lots of time, but still get to have all the fun!
- Gingerbread House Decorating Tips: When making your own decorations, why not try using frosted wheat cereal as roof shingles; graham crackers for the chimney, windows, and doors; and treats like gumdrops, hard candies, M&M's, spearmint leaves, or possibly marshmallows to "spruce up" the house.
