  1. Preheat oven to 350. Lightly spray a 10 inch tube or possibly spring-form cake pan with vegetable oil, dust with 1 Tbsp. of the flour and line with baking paper.
  2. Combine the remaining flour, cocoa and baking pwdr. Sift twice. Whip egg whites till thick and foamy. Gradually incorporate sugar and cream of tartar and continue beating to medium-stiff peaks (egg whites will stick to whisk or possibly beaters). Gently fold the flour mix into beaten egg whites. Gently mix in butter and vanilla.
  3. Pour batter into prepared cake pan. Bake till cake begins to pull away from the sides of pan, about 30 min. Cold completely before removing from pan by inverting. Peel away baking paper.
  4. Serving suggestion: Slices of cake can be warmed, or possibly grilled briefly, and served with fresh berries and nonfat whipped topping, or possibly sprinkled with powdered sugar.
