These cookies crisp up as they cool. If you like a softer cookie, bake them for just 10-12 minutes

- 3/4 cup butter-flavored shortening
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 tsp peppermint extract
- 2 to 2 1/4 cups flour
- 1/4 cup baking cocoa
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Инструкции
- Blend together the butter, sugar, and brown sugar in a large bowl until light and fluffy
- Beat in the egg
- Stir in the extracts
- Set aside
- Combine the flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt
- Gradually stir into the butter mixture
- Stir in the chocolate chips
- Drop by tablespoonfuls onto lightly greased baking sheets
- Bake at 350 F for 12 to 15 minutes
- Cool on baking sheets for 5 minutes before removing to wire racks
