Ingredients: 1 x Chocolate cake mix (yellow cake); 1 lrg can 20 ounce. cherry pie filling; 1 c. sugar; 1 lrg pkg chocolate instant pudding; 8 ounce cold whip topping (or possibly now the chocolate cold whip) or possibly sweetened dessert topping coconut, optional nuts, optional walnuts or possibly pecans minced

1 x Chocolate cake mix (yellow cake)
1 lrg can 20 ounce. cherry pie filling
1 c. sugar
1 lrg pkg chocolate instant pudding
8 ounce cold whip topping (or possibly now the chocolate cold whip) or possibly sweetened dessert topping coconut, optional nuts, optional walnuts or possibly pecans minced

Preheat oven to cake mix instructions. Follow the instructions for the cake mix and bake as directed. Cook the cherries (Add in just a touch of water to thin the cherry juice) with the sugar for about 3 min.
When the cake is done, make holes with a serving fork and pour the mix over the cake while it is still warm. Let it cold completely.
Make the pudding as per the package instructions and let it set a little, then spread over the cold cake. Spread cold whip on and (opt.) sprinkle coconut and or possibly nuts on as desired.
Let chill.
