  • 250 gm wholemeal (atta) flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 Tbsp. ghee, margarine or possibly oil About 3/4 c. hot water

Инструкции

  1. Method:PUT atta flour in a mixing bowl and add in salt then rub in ghee or possibly margarine or possibly oil. Add in sufficient water to make a soft and workable dough. Knead dough for at least 10 min (the more it is kneaded, the lighter the bread will be).
  2. Form the dough into a ball then put in a plastic bag. Let it stand for 2 to 3 hrs. (If left overnight, the chapati will be very light and tender.)
  3. Divide dough into twelve equal pcs. Shape into small round balls. Coat balls with atta flour then roll out with a rolling pin on a lightly floured board into a thin, flat circular shape.
  4. Heat a heavy griddle till very warm. Grease the griddle lightly (use a piece of towelling cloth dipped in oil). Place chapati on it and cook for a minute, pressing lightly around the edges with a folded tea towel. Bubbles will appear on the surface and when cooked, brown flecks will be seen. As each chapati is cooked, wrap in a clean tea towel till ready to serve with Mysore mutton curry.

This may not be kosher, but it is unleavened. No yeast, baking powder or baking soda has been added as a leavening agent. It doesn't even have air whipped into it to fluff it up. It is unleavened.

Even I (a Gentile Christian) can see that this is NOT an Unleavened Bread... and Certainly NOT kosher by Jewish standards... be warned.
