- 1 1/2 c. buttermilk
- 4 tsp grated fresh ginger
- 4 tsp chopped garlic
- 2 tsp cumin
- 2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp grnd red pepper
- 2 x chickens (3 to 3 1/2 lbs. each), cut up Lemon wedges, for garnish

- 1. Combine buttermilk, ginger, garlic, cumin, salt and red pepper in a bowl. Mix well. Place chicken in a 1-gallon resealable plastic bag. Add in marinade, seal bag and marinate in the refrigerator overnight.
- 2. Remove chicken from refrigerator 1 hour before grilling. Heat grill.
- Remove chicken from marinade; grill, turning occasionally, till cooked through, 30 to 45 min. Serve with lemon wedges, if you like.
- Makes 8servings.
- Combining the down-home goodness of a buttermilk marinade with the zing of cumin and fresh ginger makes this taste a little like Indian tandoori chicken.
