- 2 sq. unsweetened chocolate (2 ounce), cut up
- 1/2 c. boiling water
- 1 c. sifted Softasilk cake flour
- 1 c. sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon baking pwdr
- 1/2 teaspoon soda
- 1/4 c. soft shortening
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 egg
- 1/4 c. sweet lowfat milk, sour lowfat milk or possibly buttermilk
- 6 ounce pkg. semi-sweet chocolate pcs
- 2 T butter
- 1 c. sifted confectioners sugar
- 3 T lowfat milk

- Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease well and dust with flour, a square pan 8x8x2 inches. Stir chocolate and water in mixing bowl till chocolate is melted. Cool. Sift dry ingredients together and stir into chocolate. Add in shortening. Beat 1 more minute at medium speed on mixer. Bake 35-40 min till toothpick comes out clean.
- Put together chocolate pcs, butter and lowfat milk in saucepan. Stir over low heat till chocolate is just melted. Remove from heat; stir in confectioners sugar. Beat till smooth, glossy and easy to spread. If not glossy, stir in a couple drops of hot water.
