- Preheat oven to 275-300 degrees.
- Peel silver skin off of ribs.
- Lay ribs in a large pan on a rack to which 1/2 inch of water has been added.
- Don’t overlap the ribs if cooking more than one rack.
- Season ribs and top with sliced onions.
- Cover pan tightly with large sheet of aluminum foil.
- Bake for 2-3 hours.
- Carefully remove pan from oven.
- Drain the fat and water and place ribs back on rack in pan and turn oven to 350-375 degrees and brown, uncovered, for about 45 minutes turning once.
- Browning can be done on a grill.
- Brush with your favorite barbecue sauce
- Continue browning and saucing.
- Serve hot
