- 1/2 c. butter
- 1/2 c. vegetable shortening
- 4 c. sifted confectioners' sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 tbsp. lowfat milk or cream

- Cream butter and shortening.
- Add in sugar, 1/2 c. at a time, beating after each addition.
- Add in vanilla and lowfat milk; beat well.
- For cake icing, add in 2 Tbsp. more lowfat milk.
- The recipe can be colored, but if you use liquid coloring be careful of the amount of lowfat milk used.
