- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 2 cups sour cream
- 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
- 1 package (16. oz.) egg noodles, cooked according to package directions, and drained

%20and%20the%20witch%20at%20Alaska%20could%20NOT%20have%20been%20more%20rude%20or%20cared%20less...she%20could%20stand%20a%20few%20lessons%20from%20the%20Virgin%20America%20people.%20%20We%20ended%20up%20at%20Alaska%20Cargo%20Center%20where%20we%20shipped%20her%20card%20to%20LAX...the%20Aussie%20picked%20it%20up,%20had%20a%20burger%20for%20dinner%20and%20slept%20in%20a%20hotel%20room%20by%20herself%20while%20her%20hubby%20sailed%20the%20high%20seas.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20mister%20and%20I%20stopped%20for%20lunch%20at%20Goldbergs%20Deli%20-%20which%20is%20the%20reason%20he%20agreed%20to%20get%20involved%20in%20our%20amazing%20race%20-%20I%20promised%20him%20lunch%20at%20Goldbergs%20if%20he%20drove...he's%20a%20sucker%20for%20a%20good%20corned%20beef%20sandwich%20and%20they%20have%20the%20best%20around.%20%20We%20had%20a%20nice%20big%20lunch...and%20THEN%20I%20remembered%20that%20I%20had%20already%20started%20dinner%20in%20the%20crock%20pot.%20%20The%20story%20of%20my%20life.%20%20We%20ate%20a%20bit%20later%20than%20usual%20and%20I'm%20STILL%20thinking%20about%20dinner...the%20MOST%20AMAZING%20sauce...straw%20worthy%20to%20be%20sure!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20a%20large%20skillet,%20heat%20oil%20until%20hot,%20add%20roast%20and%20brown%20on%20all%20sides.%20%20Remove%20roast%20to%20large%20crock%20pot%20turned%20to%20high.%20%20De-glaze%20skillet%20with%20red%20wine%20for%20about%202%20minutes,%20then%20pour%20wine%20into%20crock.%20%20Add%20onion,%20mushrooms,%20beef%20broth,%20salt%20and%20pepper,%20mix%20well,%20cover%20and%20cook%20for%205%20hours.%20%20Remove%20roast%20to%20a%20cutting%20board,%20let%20sit%20for%20ten%20minutes%20and%20then%20cut%20into%20bite-sized%20pieces.%20%20Strain%20liquid%20to%20remove%20onions%20and%20mushrooms%20into%20a%20large%20bowl,%20set%20aside%20the%20liquid%20and%20the%20mushroom/onions.%20%20In%20a%20large%20skillet%20melt%20butter%20and%20flour%20together%20and%20cook%20for%20about%202%20minutes%20over%20medium-high%20heat,%20stirring%20constantly.%20%20Add%20in%20garlic%20and%20cook%20for%20another%20minute.%20%20Slowly%20add%20in%20reserved%20liquid%20from%20crock%20and%20whisk%20together.%20%20Bring%20mixture%20to%20a%20boil,%20reduce%20heat%20and%20add%20sour%20cream.%20%20Adjust%20seasonings%20with%20salt%20and%20pepper%20to%20taste.%20%20Add%20meat%20and%20mushrooms/onions%20to%20the%20skillet,%20heat%20thoroughly.%20%20Serve%20over%20egg%20noodles.%20%20Serves%208%20to%2010.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20one%20gets%205%20dangs...you'll%20want%20to%20slurp%20up%20the%20sauce...and%20I%20recommend%20you%20do...it's%20dang,%20dang,%20dang,%20dang,%20dang%20good.%20%20Amen.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
