- 1/2 c. Crisco
- 1 1/4 c. sugar
- 1 c. warm water or possibly coffee
- 1 1/2 c. sifted flour
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/2 c. cocoa
- 1 teaspoon soda
- 1/4 teaspoon baking pwdr

- Mix Crisco, large eggs, sugar, and vanilla together and beat well. Mix hot water or possibly coffee with cocoa, then add in to the first mix. Add in the flour, salt, soda, and baking pwdr; mix. Pour into 2 (8 inch) pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 45 min. Serve with whipped cream.
