.%20%20Debbie%20extended%20her%20hospitality%20to%20us%20and%20served%20a%20delicious%20luncheon%20at%20her%20home%20as%20a%20start%20of%20our%20day%20on%20the%20ranch.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWe%20later%20took%20a%20tour%20of%20the%20Tiffany%20Cattle%20Company%20where%20we%20learned%20about%20how%20the%20cattle%20are%20cared%20for%20and%20fed.%20Who%20knew%20what%20a%20big%20process%20it%20was!%20We%20were%20shown%20the%20%E2%80%9Ckitchenaid%20mixer%E2%80%9D%20for%20the%20cattle%20feed%20and%20how%20it%20works%20to%20bring%20together%20different%20types%20and%20ratios%20of%20feed%20for%20the%20cattle.%20I%20was%20also%20very%20impressed%20to%20learn%20that%20there%20are%20built%20in%20water%20vats%20in%20each%20lot%20of%20cattle%20and%20that%20those%20water%20vats%20are%20scrubbed%20clean%20weekly!%20While%20a%20lot%20of%20it%20was%20new%20to%20me,%20some%20of%20it%20was%20similar%20to%20my%20home%20state.%20It%20just%20felt%20like%20it%20was%20on%20a%20much%20larger%20scale!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOur%20next%20stop%20was%20a%20hayride%20to%20the%20range%20where%20we%20would%20meet%20the%20cattle%20and%20the%20cowboys,%20make%20biscuits%20with%20Kent%20Rollins,%20and%20walk%20among%20the%20wildflowers%20while%20identifying%20them.%20Next%20came%20our%20dinner%20of%20Cowboy%20Ribeye,%20Barbecue%20Baked%20Beans,%20and%20a%20delicious%20hominy%20recipe!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20could%20almost%20imagine%20myself%20thrown%20years%20back%20into%20the%20old%20west%20days%20when%20I%20see%20the%20cattle%20roaming%20free%20on%20the%20range.%20Like%20they%20were%20right%20in%20harmony%20with%20the%20cowboys%20(and%20girls)%20who%20were%20out%20there%20rounding%20them%20up.%20They%20grazed%20in%20the%20grass%20while%20the%20rest%20of%20us%20enjoyed%20a%20Chuckwagon%20meal%20provided%20by%20none%20other%20than%20Kent%20Rollin%E2%80%99s.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EEvery%20part%20of%20this%20trip%20was%20exciting,%20but%20the%20surprise%20was%20we%20were%20also%20going%20to%20get%20a%20chance%20to%20visit%20the%20Lodge%20where%20Pioneer%20Woman%20films%20her%20Food%20Network%20show!%20The%20view%20of%20the%20Drummond%20Oklahoma%20Ranch%20is%20breathtaking.%20The%20perfect%20ending%20to%20the%20weekend%20was%20a%20visit%20to%20the%20Mercantile,%20a%20surprise%20visit%20from%20Ladd%20Drummond%20himself,%20and%20a%20delicious%20homestyle%20meal%20served%20right%20there%20at%20the%20Mercantile%20before%20we%20headed%20back%20to%20Kansas%20and%20our%20trek%20home.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETo%20share%20my%20enthusiasm%20of%20my%20visit%20and%20to%20try%20and%20relive%20it%20just%20a%20little%20bit%20with%20Grumpy,%20I%20made%20a%20recipe%20from%20Kent%20Rollin%E2%80%99s%20cookbook%20that%20I%20am%20sharing%20with%20you%20today.%20Because%20we%20are%20just%20two%20hard%20working%20people,%20I%20cut%20his%20recipe%20in%20half%20but%20still%20made%20slight%20adjustments%20to%20the%20amount%20of%20ingredients%20(such%20as%20the%20chilis!)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ELet%20me%20leave%20you%20with%20one%20last%20photo%20of%20the%20trip%20that%20will%20hold%20great%20memories%20for%20all%20of%20us%20for%20a%20very%20long%20time!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThese%20beans%20would%20go%20great%20with%20Skillet%20Jalapeno%20Cornbread!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20post%20contains%20an%20affiliate%20link%20for%20Cowboy%20Kent%20Rollins%20cookbook.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBarbecue%20Bean%20Bake%20%23BestBeef%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20recipe%20is%20adapted%20from%20Kent's%20One-Stop%20Barbecue%20Bean%20bake%20recipe.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIngredients%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EInstructions%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPreheat%20oven%20to%20350%20degrees.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPlace%20ground%20beef%20in%20cast%20iron%20skillet%20and%20cook%20over%20medium%20heat%20until%20beef%20begins%20to%20brown.%20Add%20onion%20and%20jalapeno%20and%20cook%20until%20onions%20begin%20to%20turn%20translucent.%20Add%20pork%20and%20beans,%20barbecue%20sauce,%20green%20chilies,%20chili%20seasoning,%20and%20mustard.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPlace%20skillet%20in%20oven%20and%20bake%20for%2030%20minutes.%20Let%20cool%20at%20least%2010%20minutes%20before%20serving%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENotes%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20original%20recipe%20also%20added%20ketchup%20to%20the%20pan.%20I%20skipped%20out%20on%20this%20as%20I%20didn't%20feel%20it%20needed%20it%20for%20our%20tastes.%20Please%20help%20yourself%20to%20my%20recipe%20and%20also,%20grab%20Kent's%20cookbook%20and%20the%20full%20experience%20of%20all%20his%20Cowboy%20Cooking%20recipes!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E0.1%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ehttp://www.grumpyshoneybunch.com/2017/07/barbecue-bean-bake.html%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPin%20it!%20Barbecue%20Bean%20Bake!%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
