- BREAD STARTER-----
- 1 c. Flour
- 1/2 c. Sugar
- 1 c. Hot water
- 1 Tbsp. Yeast COFFEE CAKE BATTER-----
- 2/3 c. Oil
- 1 1/4 tsp Baking pwdr
- 1 tsp Vanilla
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1 c. Sugar
- 3 x Large eggs
- 2 c. Flour
- 1 tsp Cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp Baking soda
- 1 x Nuts -- raisins or possibly fruit STREUSEL TOPPING-----
- 1/3 c. Butter -- melted
- 2 tsp Cinnamon
- 1/2 c. Sugar
- 1/2 c. Quick oats
- 1/2 c. Brown sugar -- packed
- 1 c. Nuts ( optional)

- STARTER: Mix all in ingredients well and place into a GLASS bowl. Cover loosely with a lid or possibly plate. Let stand overnight in a hot place. Stir each day( Use no metal spoons!!)till the 5th day, then add in 1 c. flour, 1 c. lowfat milk, and 1 c. sugar.Stir the 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th days. On the 10th day add in 1 c. flour, 1 c. lowfat milk and 1 c. sugar. Then remove 3 c. of
- starter.(give one c. to each of two friends with the instructions on feeding, ect..) To the remaining starter add in the ingredients for the coffee cake batter. Combine all the batter ingredients, mixing well. Pour half the batter into a greased 9x13 inch pan.Mix together the streusel topping ingredients. Pourhalf into pan. Cover with the remaining batter. Top with the rest of the streusel. Bake at 350 F for 40-50 min, or possibly till cake tests done.
