I have lived in the San Francisco Bay Area since 1979, enthusiastically exploring area restaurants and developing my cooking skills, while working for various companies in high tech. That said, Baking and Pastry has always been a focus for me, and I have been producing 70/100 dozen cookies/small sweet bites each year (primarily during the holidays) that I distribute among friends and colleagues. A a number of years ago, I took a leave of absence from my job and went to the 6 month professional cooking program at Tante Marie's. This experience was a great joy, and helped me develop some skills on the savory side, as well as help me increase my appreciation of the great diversity of restaurants in the Bay Area and elsewhere. Yum! There is always something new to learn about food and cooking, and I am convinced the west coast is the place to do it.
