Growing up at the peak of the Life Cereal commercials, "Give it to Mikey, he'll eat anything," was an oft-repeated phrase in my childhood. Taking this theme to heart, today I consider myself to be a complete omnivore.
My 10 second community-food manifesto/rant:
I believe in quality food -- that is, food that has been produced according to the highest standards. For me, if it has been heavily processed, it just does not taste right. If I can look the producer in the eye and discuss production methods, I have made a friend and new source for my next meal. Food in my world is communal -- nourishing both body and soul. It should bring together family and friends. It should allow us to fully enjoy the beautiful, strange, colorful, pungent, savory, sweet, tender, juicy, ripe, delectable offerings produced by this miraculous earth we inhabit. And it should allow us all to enjoy these things together in one big fun culinary adventure.
I look forward to meeting people who share my passion and enthusiasm for eating the good stuff!
