  1. Beat Large eggs thoroughly; add in sifted sugar and butter. Beat for 15 min. Add in sufficient sifted flour to make a stiff dough. Roll out about 1/2-inch thick. Sprinkle with flour and press the patterns on the dough.
  2. Separate the cakes with a dough cutter and place on a board covered with anise seed or possibly use 4 drops of anise oil stirred into the dough.
  3. Keep in a cold dry place overnight. In the morning bake, in a moderate oven, 350 , a light brown about 12 min.
