,%20I%20wouldn't%20be%20me%20if%20I%20wasn't%20thinking%20up%20some%20other%20way%20to%20serve%20these%20up.%20%20I%20love%20how%20this%20turned%20out%20and%20will%20definitely%20be%20making%20this%20one%20over%20and%20over!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EP.S.%20%20These%20are%20Grumpy%20approved.%20%20:)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESaut%C3%A9ed%20Steel%20Cut%20Oat%20Cakes%20with%20Cranberry%20Infused%20Maple%20Syrup%20and%20Toasted%20Walnuts%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eadapted%20from%20Cooking%20Light%20-%20Ways%20to%20Cook%20Vegetarian%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Efor%20the%20cakes:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBring%20the%20water,%20milk,%20salt,%20and%20brown%20sugar%20to%20a%20boil.%20%20Add%20steel%20oats%20and%20bring%20back%20to%20a%20boil,%20then%20turn%20burner%20down%20to%20a%20simmer.%20%20Simmer%20about%2020%20minutes%20or%20until%20oats%20have%20thickened%20and%20liquid%20is%20absorbed.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESpray%20a%209x13%20pan%20with%20cooking%20spray.%20%20Pour%20oat%20mixture%20into%20pan.%20%20Set%20aside%20to%20cool.%20%20When%20cool,%20place%20in%20refrigerator%20to%20chill%20at%20least%20one%20hour%20(longer%20is%20better).%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhen%20you%20are%20ready%20to%20saut%C3%A9%20the%20oat%20cakes,%20removed%20pan%20from%20refrigerator%20and%20turn%20pan%20upside%20down.%20%20You%20may%20need%20to%20jiggle%20one%20side%20loose,%20but%20once%20you%20do%20that,%20the%20rest%20will%20fall%20out%20of%20the%20pan%20fairly%20easily.%20%20Cut%20oats%20into%20squares%20or%20triangles.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20used%20a%20little%20butter%20to%20saut%C3%A9%20my%20cakes%20but%20you%20can%20also%20use%20cooking%20spray.%20%20Heat%20frying%20pan%20over%20medium%20heat%20and%20once%20butter%20sizzles,%20or%20pan%20is%20hot,%20add%20oat%20cakes%20you%20have%20cut%20into%20pan.%20%20Let%20saut%C3%A9%20about%203-4%20minutes%20or%20until%20browned,%20then%20turn%20to%20saut%C3%A9%20other%20side.%20%20While%20your%20cakes%20are%20sizzling,%20add%20your%20syrup%20and%20cranberries%20to%20a%20small%20sauce%20pan%20and%20turn%20heat%20onto%20high.%20%20Once%20syrup%20starts%20to%20bubble,%20turn%20heat%20down%20to%20bring%20just%20to%20a%20simmer.%20%20Simmer%202-3%20minutes%20-%20don't%20go%20much%20longer%20as%20this%20will%20thicken%20quick%20fast.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPlace%20cakes%20on%20serving%20plate%20and%20top%20with%20cranberry%20infused%20syrup.%20%20Top%20with%20toasted%20walnuts%20if%20desired.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
