%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPut%20in%20the%20oven%20at%20400F%20(200C),%20tips%20facing%20the%20oven%20door.%20%20Roast%20for%2012%20minutes.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ERemove,%20add%20tomatoes%20and%20roast%20for%203%20minutes%20longer.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ERemove,%20sprinkle%20with%20feta,%20olives,%20mix%20a%20bit%20and%20serve.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAs%20you%20may%20(or%20may%20not)%20know%20I%E2%80%99ve%20been%20having%20internet%20problems.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20brief%20version:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESix%20weeks%20ago,%20on%20a%20Monday%20night,%20our%20internet%20stopped%20working.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20called%20the%20tech%20service,%20jumped%20through%20all%20the%20required%20hoops%20and%20was%20allowed%20to%20replace%20the%20router.%20(It%E2%80%99s%20their%20router%20and%20one%20needs%20proper%20authority%20to%20take%20it%20to%20the%20store%20and%20swap%20it%20for%20a%20new%20one).%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20installed%20the%20new%20router%20and%20the%20internet%20worked.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThree%20weeks%20later,%20on%20a%20Monday,%20our%20internet%20stopped%20working,%20again.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20called%20the%20tech%20service,%20again.%20This%20time%20they%20insisted%20on%20sending%20a%20technician%20out.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHe%20came,%20he%20tested%20and%20tested%20and%20tested.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHis%20conclusion%20was%20that%20%E2%80%98his%E2%80%99%20line%20(the%20company%20phone%20cable)%20was%20fine%20but%20%E2%80%98our%E2%80%99%20line%20(inside%20the%20house)%20needed%20upgrading.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHe%20did%20a%20few%20things%20(?),%20the%20internet%20worked.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20week,%20on%20Monday,%20our%20internet%20stopped%20working,%20again.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMon%20mari%20finally%20got%20around%20to%20changing%20%E2%80%98our%E2%80%99%20line.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIt%20didn%E2%80%99t%20work.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20called%20the%20tech%20service%20again.%20They%20insisted%20on%20sending%20a%20technician%20out,%20again%E2%80%A6.%20but%20not%20until%20Friday%20afternoon.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOn%20Thursday,%20all%20by%20itself,%20it%20came%20back%20to%20life.%20Our%20internet%20was%20working.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIt%20worked%20for%20almost%20six%20hours%20before%20it%20stopped%20again.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20morning%20a%20work%20truck%20pulled%20up%20to%20the%20house.%20A%20guy%20got%20out%20and%20started%20speaking%20in%20English.%20I%20asked%20if%20he%20was%20from%20Orange%E2%80%A6.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHe%20said%20yes.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20thought%20how%20much%20easier%20it%20was%20going%20to%20be%20explaining%20this%20saga%20in%20English,%20which%20I%20promptly%20did.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHe%20listened%20attentively,%20nodded%20appropriately,%20but%20did%20nothing.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20finally%20asked%20what%20he%20needed%20to%20start.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHe%20finally%20said%20that%20he%20was%20supposed%20to%20clean%20the%20chimney.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20said%20he%20had%20the%20wrong%20house.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20afternoon%20the%20real%20technician%20showed%20up.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHe%20had%20more%20and%20bigger%20equipment%20than%20the%20first%20technician.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHe%20determined%20that%20the%20problem%20was%20%E2%80%98his%E2%80%99%20line%20and%20the%20connection%20to%20%E2%80%98our%E2%80%99%20line%20%E2%80%93%20and%20I%20think%20more%20stuff,%20but%20after%20that%20the%20details%20escaped%20me%20(he%20didn%E2%80%99t%20speak%20English).%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHe%20made%20a%20few%20phone%20calls,%20a%20few%20minutes%20later%20a%20truck%20with%20a%20%E2%80%98cherry-picker%E2%80%99%20showed%20up%20and%20the%20work%20started.%20They%20fussed%20with%20the%20line%20at%20the%20top%20of%20the%20main%20pole%20and%20they%20fussed%20with%20the%20line%20that%20branched%20off%20to%20our%20house%20and%20they%20fussed%20with%20all%20the%20connections%20in%20the%20house.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFinally,%20two%20hours%20later,%20he%20was%20satisfied%20that%20the%20signal%20was%20now%20correct.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20turned%20everything%20back%20on.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIt%20worked.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIf%20it%E2%80%99s%20still%20working%20three%20weeks%20from%20now,%20on%20a%20Monday,%20I%E2%80%99ll%20be%20thrilled.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ELast%20update%20on%20May%202,%202014%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
