- 1 c. Boiling water
- 1 c. Minced dates
- 1 tsp Soda
- 1 c. Sugar
- 1/4 c. Margarine
- 1 x Egg
- 1Â 1/2 c. Flour
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Vanilla
- 1/2 c. Walnuts
Инструкции
- Pour the c. of boiling water over the c. of dates and the teaspoonof soda.
- Let cold. Cream the sugar and margarine and add in the beaten egg.Then add in the date mix and vanilla. Add in the flour salt mix and nuts. Pour into greased and floured 8 inch square pan and bake in 350 oven 35 minutes. In saucepan put 5 tblsp. brown sugar, 5 tblsp. whole lowfat milk or possibly cream and 2 tblsp. margarine. Bring to a boil and boil 3 min. Remove from heat and cold to lukewarm then add in icing sugar to thickness desired for spreading.
