This is a great old fashioned cobbler recipe defiantly worth the extra effort. My family enjoys this in their own unique ways. My hubby enjoys his cold with a sprinkle of sugar while I only like it hot with a sprinkle of sugar and dash of milk. My kids will eat it hot or cold with more than a sprinkle of sugar and dash of milk. I have also top with ice cream or fresh whip cream. Any way you choose to enjoy this cobbler it is amazingly tasty. You can also substitute other kinds of fruit as well if you like. Mix it up play a little it will be a great end to your meal.

Thanks Claudia your review of my recipe was very inspiring & heartening. To many times I have been served a “cobbler” only to be disappointed and left wanting. It helps to know there are still people who think like I do about doing things OLD school! As a side note you can use the crust and substitute the filling with fresh strawberries & lemon extract (or any one you want) for the peaches it makes for a scrumptious unique strawberry short cake. Top with fresh whipping cream blended with crystallized ginger & lemon zest some fresh blueberries atop the whip cream round it of very nicely. MBC

You'll have to help me....I'm a beginner with cobblers! I assume the crust goes on the bottom of the pie pan. Then the peach filling. Then Batter??? What batter?

Hi Barbara thanks for checking out my cobbler recipe. Cobblers can be a great finish to your meal by mixing different kinds of fruit. In answer to your question the BATTER is what I refer to the dough prior to cooking the CRUST is how I refer to it after it is baked. Prepare the batter in a bowl per the instructions then set aside. Then have a baking dish ready to pour filling in when ready. At this time prepare the filling when you have finished this pour this in your baking dish. At this point this is when you will dot butter and sprinkle over your filling. Once you have done that grab your bowl of batter you have set aside and drop spoonfuls over your filling. DO NOT place any batter in your baking dish until after you have placed the filling in to the dish. During baking the batter will form a nice pebbly crust over the filling. Hope this was helpful good luck let me know how things turned out! Happy-Eating relish the FRUITS!!! Of your labor Maribeth
