- 3/4 c. white sugar
- 1/2 c. packed brown sugar
- 1Â 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking pwdr
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1Â 1/2 c. orange slice candies -- quartered (10 oz package)

- Mix together flour, baking pwdr and baking soda. Set aside. Layer ingredients in order given in a qt sized "wide mouth" canning jar. Press each layer firmly in place. Add in the orange candies last. It will be a tight fit.
- Attach these directions to jar:Orange Slice Cookies Remove orange slice candy from jar. Set aside. Empty remaining cookie mix into large mixing bowl. Use your hands to thoroughly blend mix. Add in: 1/2 c. butter or possibly margarine, softened at room temperature. Don't USE DIET MARGARINE. Add in 1 egg slightly beaten and 1 tsp. vanilla. Mix till completely blended. You may need to finish mixing with your hands. Fold in orange slice candy. Shape into large sized balls.place 2 inches apart on sprayed baking sheets. Bake at 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) for 12 to 14 min till edges are lightly browned. Cold 5 min on baking sheet. Remove cookies to racks to finish cooling.
- Makes 2 1/2 dozen cookies.
- NOTES : Orange Slice Cookie fold in a jar with tag attached with directions on how toprepare the mix.
